Your Voice of Love to the People of China

Leaving the city of Shenzhen, [adjacent to Hong Kong], I saw row upon row of factories and worker's dormitories filling the land on either side of the road. The Pearl Delta region of southern Guangdong Province) employs some three million manufacturing workers. Ninety percent of them are from other provinces, having left hometown and villages in search of livelihood. From farms to cities they came, encountering g new temptations on every side. This great assemblage of workers needs the gospel, for after they have received salvation, they can carry the good news back to their far-flung homes. Whether we think of the work of preparing the fields, sowing the seed, cultivating and harvesting, the greatest army of outside missionaries is still needed. China has 1.2 billion people waiting to hear the gospel. What medium can we use to reach them with the truth of God?

Several years ago I was sharing the gospel with a friend's family in an area north of Guangzhou. I had prepared several copies of gospel music cassette tapes for them. It had not occurred to me that they were already using a DVD player. China's standard of living has been steadily rising due to the open door economic policy. Prosperity is increasing daily. Just look at the amazing purchasing power of Mainland visitors to Hong Kong. Ten short year have witnessed an enormous change indeed. However, we must not forget  that the people enjoying prosperity still constitute a small minority of the total population. Television, computers, DVD's may be commonplace items in larger cities, but they are extravagances in the rural areas. What medium can be used that is readily available in the remote areas to reach the large numbers of people living there?

Gospel radio uses short wave and medium wave broadcasts to bring g the gospel to this great land, and a single radio can allow an individual or an entire group to hear God's word. Yes, individual evangelism is effective, but how much time , and how many people will be required before the Great Commission is fulfilled  this way? We must utilize the Internet, television and computers to preach to the current generation of city dwellers. However, the majority of Chinese people still only have the economic ability to purchase radios. To preach the gospel to the hundreds of millions of people in this huge field waiting for harvest workers- who will go? Who is able to go?
In fact, it is gospel radio that can enable the hundreds of millions of people to hear the gospel.

Alliance Radio, celebrating 25 years of ministry to Mainland China, is indeed the means by which we can reach these millions. The monthly budget of US$33,800 is being supplied by friends all around the world. We are grateful for these provisions, and call upon the friends of China to continue to send their gifts for this worthy project.

Gifts may be sent to The Christian and Missionary Alliance at Box 35,000, Colorado Springs, CO 80935  designed Hong Kong Alliance Radio or through the C&MA office in your country. E-mail Hong Kong Alliance Radio at archina@netvigator.com for more information.
