CHINA IS IN THE NEWS EVERY DAY
No doubt, if you have logged on to my web site www.ChurchInChina.info, you have been amazed at the amount of new information about China that is available every day. Everyone is writing about this rising superpower that is expected to surpass the USA within the next 20 years. But more amazing is China’s unusual embracing of Christianity. David Aikman in his very informative book, Jesus In Beijing, states on page 285,
“China is in the process of becoming Christianized. That does not mean that all Chinese will become Christians, or even that a majority will. But at the present rate of growth in the number of Christians in the countryside, the cities, and especially within China’s social and cultural establishment, it is possible that Christians will constitute 20 to 30 percent of China’s population within three decades.”
SOME SIGNIFICANT RESULTS IF THAT HAPPENS
SUPPORT THE TRAINING OF CHINESE CROSS-CULTURAL WORKERS
The first group of students graduated from an intensive two-year course in cross-cultural ministry in March. The next step for them in their preparation will be vocational training during the summer months that will enable them to survive in their appointed limited access countries. Pray for the people who provide the training and for the students to quickly learn a trade while at the same time maintaining their passion for their life’s work as “tentmakers.” That term is derived from the Apostle Paul’s example of supporting himself while he spread the gospel and established churches and groups of Christians in highly resistant lands. These young workers will be moving into highly sensitive areas by Fall, and consequently, they need your earnest prayer support. The training centers where these young people are preparing for a life of sacrifice and most likely persecution, urgently needs your prayer and financial support. Because of the sensitive nature and secrecy of this work, those interested in praying for or supporting this ministry should write to me at Kahu@juno.com for more specific information and the way you can be involved with China in its desire to reach all of the lands of the 10/40 Window. (See a full description of the 10/40 Window on the side bar of www.ChurchInChina.info.
PROBLEMS ARE OPPORTUNITIES IN DISGUISE
“Tentmaker” acquaintances J & S in China wrote on March 16th that they have opened an elementary school as a legal reason for living in China. Parents praised the staff saying that their children had learned so much in such a short time because of the great interest each person had in their children. All teachers are believers with a mission to live their lives before the students and their parents. However, the local police threatened to destroy the school because these Tentmakers refused to give them any bribes! A few weeks later, three police officers unexpectedly visited J & S one night demanding to see their visas. As they were leaving they warned them sternly that there would be serious consequences should their papers not be in order in the future. Pray for this venture of faith to be successful and a blessing to hundreds of children and their parents. Write me for more specific information
AN EXCEPTIONAL ANSWERS TO PRAYER
From another representative who visits China frequently in order to help China’s exploding church, comes the report that while in Central China, a Christian group of “Around the World” travelers were tremendously impressed with the help he was giving to local churches and their building projects. Consequently, “Around the World” sponsored by International Cooperating Ministries voted to support a one day K-Love Radio fund raiser for building churches in Hunan Province. Amazingly, on February 23rd, $500,000 was raised for church buildings, and this will be matched by ICM! Praise the Lord! God is in the business of doing miracles today! There are several other projects you might be interested in supporting. . Write me.
GANSU, INC. BEGINS 17th YEAR OF SERVICE TO CHINA
Dr. William Conrad, grandson of Christian and Missionary Alliance missionary William Christie, one of the early pioneers who had a profound effect on the people of the Gansu/Tibetan border, reports that there are 32 volunteers committed to this summer’s projects in two locations. Gansu, Inc sends teams of ophthalmologists and support people to this remote area of west China. These committed Christians will begin work on April 1st in Turpan, Xinjiang-Uygar Autonomous Region where they expect to perform 125-150 cataract surgeries. In mid-May five teams will be at work in Qingyang Prefecture, Gansu Province where an anticipated 375-450 additional cataract surgeries will be performed. The efforts of these teams need prayer and financial support as they combat both physical and spiritual blindness. Their USA address for gifts and prayer request is Gansu, Inc, P.O. Box 8954, Warner Robins, GA 31095-8954.
EE – EVANGELISM EXPLOSION IN CHINA
From a Chinese worker in the city of F……. in China comes the report that fourteen believers from the largest churches in the city took the EE training. In their On-the-job training on Monday afternoons, they explained the gospel to 159 people with 69 making a profession of faith in Christ. Seventy others gained an assurance of faith, and only 20 rejected the opportunity to consider the gospel! Kids EE has been launched in this city also with four trained workers. The need is urgent as there are 500 million children in China and most have no knowledge of Jesus since evangelizing children under 18 is actually forbidden by the government. More and more churches and groups are finding ways to reach children.
TWENTY MK INTERNATIONAL SCHOOLS RECEIVE BOOKS
Since January 2006, God has made it possible for me to send a free set of seven of my books to 20 Christian International School libraries around the world! Six months ago I made a big decision and took a huge step of faith. God directed me to send the seven books including those shown below to any Christian school that requested them. My first response was wrong for I asked, “Lord, how can I afford it?” He had a ready answer. “Set aside $1.00 for every book sold and leave the rest to Me!” Now in just three months since January 1st, books have been sent to Senegal, Ecuador, Vietnam, the Philippines, China, Kenya, Papua New Guinea, Mali, Venezuela, Bolivia, Ethiopia, Romania, Azerbaijan and South Korea. Amazingly, there’s a balance in the account also! It’s like the little boy and his five loaves and two fish. All requests will be met, so just praise the Lord with me and pray that all books will arrive safely and impact hundreds and hundreds of lives. Help by buying these books for your church or family.
TOOLS TO OPEN HEARTS
A home schooling pastor’s wife recently wrote: “I just finished reading your two books on China. I was deeply impressed and my faith was greatly strengthened. I was given direction for my children yet at home. There is something about these books that helps me get right down to the heart of serving Christ, dropping off extras and unnecessary things.”
A question I have been asking people these days: “Will your family be prepared for persecution when it comes?” These two books on persecution are helping people take the right steps in preparing for the coming persecution right here in the USA.
