Dear China Friends,

Aloha! We have arrived back in Honolulu after attending a senior conference called Prime Time and a visit with three of our children along the way. Kapahulu Bible Church asked us to return because their new pastor will not arrive until the beginning of January. It was an easy decision to make but it does create a problem in getting this report out due to technical problems connected with our e-mail. Please pass this on each month until we get back in January, and tell churches and people to go to our web site for a copy.

THE GOATS ARE MULTIPLYING ALREADY

The Goat Project for China is doing much better than we anticipated. Originally, we hoped to be able to send 10 pairs of goats to China for a church planting project in several rural communities. However, God has touched many hearts, and as of today, funds for 18 pairs have been contributed. More is on the way we hear. Maybe the pairs haven't started multiplying yet, but the number of pairs has increased dramatically. Thank you, everyone, for your participation. We will be accepting funds through the rest of this year and ask that everyone pray for this step of faith as we help a mother church with their expansion plans in rural areas. For anyone still desiring to participate, make checks payable to First Alliance Church Orlando, and send to us at 1622 Calvin Circle , Kissimmee , FL 34746 for processing.

THE WUHAN CHURCH NOT OPEN YET

The latest report from Wuhan is not very encouraging and therefore calls for much prayer. The elevator has been installed and the church is completed, but because of political opposition, the occupancy permit has not yet been granted. The pastoral staff is also experiencing considerable difficulty and one of the teachers from the seminary spent a month in jail. It is not possible to be more explicit at this time except to say that our dear brothers and sisters in Christ are experiencing great difficulties for the cause of Christ and the purity of the Gospel. Pray that all interference will be removed and the people be given permission to use this as a great training and equipping place for Central China . It seats 1,000 and is connected with the large seminary that is also experiencing restrictions in the number of freshman permitted to enroll.

TERRORIST ATTACK TOUCHES CHINA

It is estimated that Osama bin Laden has trained more than 1,000 Chinese Muslims in Afghanistan for terrorist activities inside China . This has prompted a crack down in China among separatist minority groups where some are involved in violence and bombings. This has opened the door for a crackdown on criminal activities. As many as 15,000 have been arrested including over 800 unspecified “evil forces” crimes that could mean anything the government wanted it to mean. Pray for restraint and fairness and continued religious liberty as promised in the constitution.

AN INCREASE IN COMPUTERS AND ENGLISH

A new challenge confronts the Chinese government. There are now 40 million computers owned by Chinese people and 200 million online. These rapid developments have made the government nervous as it becomes increasingly difficult to control the Internet. Some stringent laws are being enacted that will enable the government to control what the public can do with the Internet. A new tool is becoming available as English has almost become a mandatory subject starting with kindergarten. There are more than 3,000 language institutes taking in 1.2 billion dollars annually in fees. Pray that many people will be able to come in contact with Christian ministries in Chinese and English on the Internet and these new developments be used of God to open many hearts to the Gospel.

A NEW WEB SITE ADDRESS

At last you can log on to our web site using a short address. Please write it down and look in on the new set up that is under construction. Log on to http://www.bollback.com   That’s all there is to it. There you can find China Clippings for the past two years, Senior Link and many things about my books and how to get them into the hands of your children. Take a look at the new site and keep current on the above as well as new links to Harvest Chapel where our son, Jonathan, serves as Associate pastor. There is a link to our son, Jim, in Hong Kong and other good things. This is the work of Jonathan, my web master, working under the name Anboson.

ALLIANCE RADIO OUT OF HONG KONG

It has been some time since I reported on Alliance Radio in Hong Kong . Letters continue to come from China telling of the joy and blessing of their programs. One listener wrote: “I am pleased that I can listen to your program every night. After a hard day’s work, your program brings relief to my weary soul. Each time I listen to the hymns, my mind becomes very peaceful and well, and the teachings from the Bible transform me into a new person.  We younger people like to listen to the hymns during our rest time. It helps purify our thoughts and the teaching brings us much joy.”

Prayer is requested for this radio studio because contributions have dropped off since September 11th. The economy in China and Hong Kong has also been affected adversely. Pray that contributions will increase and the programs go forth unhindered.

CHINA OUTREACH MINISTRY REPORT

From the University of Maryland comes the report that the Jesus video was shown recently to 25 Chinese students. All were deeply moved at the scenes of the crucifixion, and one woman who had begun attending a Chinese church with her husband, invited Jesus into her life.

A young couple attending the University of Wisconsin visited the farm of an American friend. She showed them the Jesus video. At the close of the video, the wife who had just arrived from China , prayed to receive Christ. Her surprised husband asked her if she really meant that seriously. She replied that she did and wanted to phone her mother in China to tell her the good news.

Every large university and many smaller ones as well, have many Chinese students attending them. Ask God to show you how you can get involved in reaching these young people from China with the Good News.

GOOD EE NEWS FROM CHINA AND MONGOLIA

An exciting report has reached us from Evangelism Explosion (EE) workers in Mongolia . With 19 teams going out to witness, they had opportunity to share the gospel with 36 people. Praise the Lord, 24 of them prayed to receive Christ. Somewhere in China , 30 pastors and church leaders were trained in EE. They had the joy of sharing the gospel with 148 people. Best of all, 146 of them prayed and professed Christ as Savior.

Many churches in America experience no conversions in an entire year! Pray that your church will be able to report conversions and baptisms. Pray that these new converts will be grounded in God’s word and will mature in Christ.

HARVEST TIME IN TAIWAN ALSO

Gregg and Cherie Orr in Taiwan report 126 children learning about the gospel in southern Taiwan . They were working with the Nankang Church and a youth outreach.  Doyle and Dori Carlblom report the starting of a Marriage Encounter group for Taiwan . Pray also for summer projects for short term mission teams to be launched from Taiwan to mainland China this summer and for those who will lead these groups for such projects as teaching English and other courses.

PRAY FOR THE MINISTRY OF THE JACK AND JENNY MYSTERY BOOKS

You can read about these books written for children on my web site: www.bollback.com  In a time when the whole world is caught up in the witchcraft of the Harry Potter books, it is time to provide our children with wholesome, biblically-based books that are fascinating and full of activity and excitement. Take a look at these books and place an order for your children or grandchildren today.

Yours on behalf of the millions of Chinese in the world,

ANTHONY BOLLBACK
