From a Traveler to China

Greetings from ‘our adopted homeland’.

We arrived here safely. Thanks for your prayers! Sometimes God allows us to pull back the curtain and see how He has used us. We had a small gathering of expats in our home for worship, when we lived here. This group was later given permission to worship and rose to around 100.

Two Sundays ago we joined that same fellowship which is now over 700 strong. In the ensuing 5 years He has grown that group, allowed new freedoms from the government, and a new church building that holds 1000 worshippers. To say we are amazed at God’s faithfulness wouldn’t begin to express it.

On Saturday of last week my son and I were privileged to be at a men’s retreat for expats. The leader of the retreat was a young man who first came to this country in 19-- with a student group we led.

This Sunday we worshipped in an expat fellowship, the pastor of which came with that same student group in 19-- along with the gal he proposed to that summer who is now his wife.

We were met after the service with a number of others who expressed that they were first challenged to come to this great land by those who had caught the vision from those who had themselves come early in the 19--’s.

We are truly humbled by all this and would never presume to take the glory from the King of King’s Who put the burden in our hearts. We obeyed that vision and rejoice in the powerful outcome (which will continue on in to eternity).

In the battle with you
